Dori received a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Colorado in Boulder. She has over 30 years painting experience and has exhibited in galleries and museums all over the United States, including solo shows at the Birmingham Museum of Art, the Mobile Museum of Art, and the Huntsville Museum of Art.

With Instructor Annabelle DeCamillis

Annabelle DeCamillis graduates from University of Alabama, Birmingham with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in May, 2017. She will work painting sets for the Santa Fe Opera for the summer after graduation. As a Spain Park High School student in Birmingham she gained national recognition for her artwork. She won several first place state awards in Alabama and top medals in the  Scholastic National Art and Writing Competition for her Junior and senior years. Awards were given out at Carnegie Hall. Her winning paintings were displayed in the exhibit ART.WRITE.NOW.DC, in the lobby of the U.S. Department of Education in Washington, DC.  She was a YoungArts finalist, where she spent a week in Miami studying with some of the world's most respected artists and had an exhibition at the Miami Museum of Art. In May of 2013 her work was exhibited at the Kennedy Center in New York City.

Class Description

For people who claim they can't draw a stick figure and seasoned artists who want to sharpen their skills and talk about their work. Our approach is to cater the course to the individual; students can explore and be guided through the subject matter and styles they choose, or request a tailored plan designed by us. ABSOLUTELY NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARYClasses are limited to 12 students.

Class Info

Each course is 6 weeks long and meets once a week. Students can start at any time; we have a one-room schoolhouse method that supports beginners and advanced students alike. Price is $140 per 6 week session. Students may purchase a starter kit of supplies from Red Dot Gallery at the first session at $60 dollars additional for painting and $45 for drawing. Students are allowed one free missed class per six week session. Classes are only for adults 18 and over.

Annabelle will be graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from University of Alabama in Birmingham in May. She will be working for the prestigious Santa Fe Opera for the summer of 2017, painting props for the stage sets. She may return to teach workshops at Red Dot in the fall.
