Drop-in Drawing Class

People

People

What we do.

This one hour class teaches fundamental drawing skills while drawing people, places and things. No skill or talent necessary. This is an encouraging environment where we can connect and find joy in making art. You never have to show what you’re working on if you’re uncomfortable. The free video below will offer you practice with the basics before you hop in for the first time.

For adults and kids 8 and over (or advanced youngsters.) For kids: you’ll have to try a class or two to see if it’s a good fit.

Meet your instructor.

Instructor Dori DeCamillis has taught painting and drawing to adults and kids at Red Dot for since 2004. She has over 40 years experience as a visual artist. The vast majority of her accomplished students start with absolutely no experience. More about Dori.

About Materials

Any pencil and paper make a good start, but a pencil set with the numbers below will make your experience nicer. The harder the graphite (H for hard) the lighter the line, and softer the graphite (B for black or bold) the darker the line. For paper, newsprint is good for practice, but in our onine class I use nicer drawing paper. (70-80 lbs)
