The student show opened Friday to our usual friendly and enthusiastic crowds. We are lucky to have such a lovely group of students, collectors, supporters, and friends. The exhibit will be open until August 5.
New Student Work
You'll see plenty of student work at the upcoming Red Dot 2017 Student Show, and in the meantime, here are a few recently finished pieces by devoted, talented, and just plain wonderful Red Dot painters and drawing students Ann Vaphiades, Yuri Yakov, Laura Malone, and Jack Branch.

Workshops for Corporations
Red Dot instructor Dori DeCamillis now offers oil painting lessons for corporations looking for team building or just-for-fun workshops. These RFMS employees came from all over the country to enjoy an afternoon of masterpiece-making. No experience necessary.

Dori DeCamillis is excited to be holding her first Without a Net Workshop, for creativity and self-awareness, at Red Dot Gallery this Saturday, February 25. A Brush with Casey
Please join us at the first solo exhibit of the oil paintings of longtime Red Dot student, Casey Lancaster. The opening reception will be held Friday, January 27, 5-8 pm. A Brush with Casey will run through February 27.
Diaper Thank You
Thank you to all who donated during our December Diaper Drive to benefit the YWCA's domestic violence shelter. We created quite nice work of art at the gallery with them, and the New Year will be seeing a lot more dry bottoms when they are delivered.

Kid Class Offers Portfolio Help
Annabelle DeCamillis teaches the Red Dot Kid Class Tuesdays at 4:30. In addition to teaching kids 8-12 basic through advanced art skills, she also helps them ready their portfolio for Alabama School of Fine Arts.
Zoo Painting on Billboard
Red Dot owner Dori painted a commissioned work for the Birmingham Zoo's ZooGala promotional material. It appeared on a billboard over the Red Mountain Expressway for several weeks. The piece sold at auction on September 16th.

Kid Class Returns
Kid Class is back at Red Dot Gallery. Taught by instructor Annabelle DeCamillis, the class will teach classic drawing and painting skills to 8-12 year olds. Held Tuesdays 4:30 to 5:30. For more information click here.
