Dori is an excellent art teacher and a lovely human being. I have been attending classes for over 2 years and look forward to being in the studio every week. She encourages you to develop your own style while giving you directed feedback to help you progress and become a better painter. I love being surrounded by other painters and am inspired by everyone's different styles. She encourages all levels, from the very beginner to the professional artist. If you want to develop your creative side in an encouraging environment I would give Red Dot a try!

Great atmosphere

Been taking art classes at Red Dot for over 9 years and have watched my abilities improve greatly with a talented and patient teacher. The teaching style very helpful, open, and encouraging. No pressure from teacher mostly fun and acceptance of a variety of styles and levels of ability that show up in class with gentle guidance always offered. There are many useful tips on products and tools with no pressure. Have enjoyed the workshops too. They deepened skills like the creativity, photography with a smart phone especially for capturing good photos to be used for future paintings, and others. My time with this studio has been memorable and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great atmosphere, excellent instruction and a a desire to nurture your creativity.

Exceeds expectations

I have learned so much through my lessons at Red Dot! I never would have thought I could have created some of the paintings I’ve done, but under Dori’s instruction, I’ve far exceeded my expectations. Plus, I’ve seen others like myself begin with very limited to no experience and create the kind of beautiful pieces that you would expect from a seasoned artist. Relaxing

I am a retired vascular surgeon who was looking for a hobby along with my love of golf. My wife is an artist and encouraged me to join her class. It has been truly rewarding. Painting is very relaxing for your mind. Dori is extremely knowledgeable and pleasant to work with. I would highly recommend getting involved.

Joyful

Had never drawn or painted in my life until about 4-5 years ago. Dori and all the participating students welcomed me warmly at Red Dot. I have learned so much from Dori about painting and technique. She even takes time to expose the class to some art history, famous paintings and painters. Her teaching style and the comradery in the class have given me great joy and more confidence in my painting ability.

Personalized

I've been taking painting classes from Dori at Red Dot for the past few years now, and I can't believe how much my skills have improved with her help! I've tried other classes from other teachers over the years but never found a teacher I "clicked" with before. Red Dot keeps the class size more manageable so each student gets plenty of personalized attention. I highly recommend this gallery and their classes!

Builds skills

If you are looking for an excellent art class, you'll find it at Red Dot. Dori teaches you with a one on one approach while also instructing a class of 8-12 painting and drawing students. I have taken her drawing class. She was very attentive and developed, in me, a much stronger skill set. I worked on a new skill each week. She had me practice new things I have never known before. I never knew I could be so good at drawing!

Wonderful experience

I've been taking classes at Red Dot for over a year. Dori is a fantastic teacher that knows when to push you to figure out what to do by yourself and when to step in and show you. I didn't think I would be able to paint well when I started, but now I have friends asking me to paint things for them! It has been a wonderful experience, you won't regret signing up.

My favorite thing

My Tuesday night painting class is what I most look forward to during the week. Dori has the formula down to a tee and can teach anyone (even a left-brained engineer like myself) to paint. She has created a fun and collaborative environment, and the class sizes are small enough for personalized feedback. After 6 months of painting at Red Dot, I have the skills and confidence to paint almost anything, and be proud of it. Highly recommended!
