Kid Class

Variety of media and styles,
heavy on fun

Details

Each class will cover one of a variety of different mediums and subjects. Projects balance development of academic rendering skill with fun crafting. In addition to sketching practice, we use mediums such as pastels, acrylic paint, watercolor, pencil drawing, oil pastels, clay, collage, scratch board, and found object constructions. We try not to repeat projects often, so there will be plenty of new instruction even if you take several six week sessions in a row.

Lydia Kirkland

Lydia Kirkland is a graduate of Auburn University where she studied Human Development and Family Studies, with a concentration in middle childhood/ adolescence. She began oil painting classes at Red Dot in 2017, and quickly fell in love with the medium. She loves to teach and encourage creativity in younger artists, in hopes that they don’t lose sight of the joy of art.
