In this week’s drawing classes we’ll focus on the art of Edward Hopper, one of Dori’s favorites. We’ll look at the preliminary drawings that were recreated in paint. They are some of the most iconic American works in history. We’ll get inspired by his lonely images, usually of people in architecture, and practice drawing in his style. The images here are modern examples that might have peeked his interest for a subject. Students are encouraged to recreate them in pencil (or charcoal) in Hopper’s style.
